When You Come Home

What have you been getting into
It's been quite a while since I've seen you
My friend
They had a discount for these blue shoes
They looked like the ones that would suit you
But I wasn't sure if your size has changed
Steam from my nose when I'm breathin
I can't take my mind off that evening
But maybe I'll forget if I sleep
Talked to you when I was dreaming
What are you doing this weekend
You always made me laugh when you speak
And you always thought my laugh was funny
So one day
If you find your way
I'll be waiting for you
Tell me bout all the things that you did
How was your trip
I got all these questions to ask
But I'll save them for when you come home
Barefoot in my place just to keep it clean
I hated when you didn't do the same
But the floor in my house misses your shoes
We were cooking and I couldn't taste the meat
You agreed and then you grabbed the salt for me
And I still wish that I said thank you
Whether it's hot or too cold to breathe
I know that you're finding some place to sleep
You've always loved to prepare for the storm
I hope you make friends that you'd hate to leave
Even though it's not something that you would need
I know that you could stand on your own
And trust me I don't mean to rush you
But one day
If you find your way
I'll be waiting for you
Tell me bout all the things that you did
How was your trip
I got all these questions to ask
But I'll save them for when you come home
